Find and join communities
On Communities (/communities), you can find and join spaces where users with shared interests gather. Each community has visibility and join requirements, so the way you join may differ.
Find communities
Section titled “Find communities”- Open the community list from Communities in the side menu.
- Browse public communities and open the profile (community space) of one that interests you.
Join requirements
Section titled “Join requirements”| Setting | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Anyone can join (automatic approval) | You become a member after applying without administrator approval. |
| Administrator approval (manual approval) | Submit a join request; you become a member when a community administrator approves it. |
Visibility
Section titled “Visibility”| Setting | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Public | The community can be found in search, and posts can be viewed by anyone. |
| Private | The community cannot be found in search, and posts can be viewed by members only. |
Changing visibility after a community is created has restrictions. See Create and manage communities for details.
Join request flow
Section titled “Join request flow”- Request to join (register as a member) from the community page.
- For manual approval, wait until you are approved. You can check the result in notifications.
- Once you are a member, you can post to and view that community’s note.
