Post everyday stories

A story is a post that shares everyday moments and thoughts using a title, body text, images, and video. You post to your own user space or to a community space note you belong to. When posting, you can choose visibility, sensitive content settings, and more.

  1. Open Create story (or add a story) from the header create menu or from the target space’s note screen.
  2. Enter a title (optional), body text, images, and video.
  3. Set visibility, sensitive content, whether comments are allowed, and other options.
  4. When you publish, the post appears on the target space’s note and, when conditions are met, in viewers’ home feeds.

Sensitive content marks posts that include images or material that may unexpectedly cause discomfort or psychological distress for some viewers, such as sexual suggestion, violence, or horror. For posts marked sensitive, images are blurred on the timeline and can be revealed by tapping.

Always mark content as sensitive when it may be viewed by people you do not know personally. What requires sensitive marking and what is prohibited is defined in the Community Guidelines.

You can attach multiple images and videos. Supported image formats are JPG, PNG, GIF, and WEBP, with a maximum file size of 10 MB per image.

Videos can be up to 60 seconds long. If you select a longer video, only the first 60 seconds are treated as the video in the post (the remainder is not included).

Attached images and videos are automatically reviewed by the system. Posts that violate guidelines may be marked sensitive or removed.

Problematic content may also receive additional action through user reports or review by the service team.

Comments are accepted by default. If you choose Do not accept comments, no one can comment on that post. However, comments posted before you change this setting remain visible after comments are disabled.
